We are the Champion! (most probably)

Manchester United won Chelsea by 2:1 on Sunday at Old Trafford , which made them 1 point away from their 19th EPL title. Hernandez scored after 37seconds of the start with the assist from Park. It was his 20th goal of his first season in Manchester United. He has been playing well throughout the whole season. Vidic headed in the second goal assisted by Giggs to seal the game.
Giggs and Carrick were selected to be the most valuable player of the match. Carrick has done a great job to keep the possession of the mid-field for the United, and I am looking forward to his performance against Barcelona  in the Champion Cup. Besides Giggs and Carrick, I think Park has played a great game too. His great passes and energy contributed a major part of the United's victory. He is definitely the best Asian soccer player in the world!

  1. As a fellow United fan, I can say one thing: What a great game! Despite a score of 2-1, United clearly dominated the game. What was most apparent to me was Chelsea's aging look. In comparison, United only has a few players that will be hanging it up in the near future: Giggs, Van der Sar, and Scholes. Plus, with the addition of Hernandez, it looks like United will have a great scoring tandem for the next four or five years (assuming Hernandez isn't sold to Barcelona or Real Madrid).

Moreover, I think this was United's most impressive season in a while. They came into the year without a clear super star: Rooney had a terrible World Cup and was dealing with injuries and infidelity rumors. Offense and midfield were both question marks.

On offense, Berbatov hadn't played well since coming to Old Trafford and Hernandez was a complete unknown. Hernandez had played well in the world cup, but he hadn't played in a league like the EPL before.

In the midfield, Giggs and Scholes have both been "old" for several seasons. Carrick was injured and hadn't played well either, while Nani hadn't come into his own yet.

This season we have seen a United team that has gotten contributions from everyone. Berbatov, Hernandez and Rooney have all been great at different points in the season and Giggs and Nani (and now Valencia) have all stepped up as well.

What a year it has been! I can't wait to watch the Champions League final! Glory glory Man United!

  2. It is great that players are given awards such as Most Valuable Player because as you showcase it generates not only admiration for players, but for teams and the sport in general.

  3. I did watch the game even though it's my final week. Actually i feel they could even score more. Early goals from Javier Hernandez and Nemanja Vidic have provided advantage of the team so they could be more defensive. personally i felt they had more chances in the second half especially the last 15 minutes. I expected it would be a tough game but i did not think they had a tough game. More, i feel that after they win this game, they could focus more on the UEFA Championship League final against Barcelona. It was a fantastic move.

    Go Manutd.
